There are also lots of lovely example of Squirrely in action. I've selected a few that are most relevant to my project.
So that i can look for things that are done nicely, as well as things to avoid.
The quality of animation in this first one is really good (despite them being lazy and deleting the tail)
I'm not so fond of the way he runs, it's just not the way a squirrel moves. I'm planning on keeping mine more graceful.
This one isn't quite so good, I think the run would be much better if the strides were longer, he looks to heavy.
The jaunty walk ant the jumps are better, but the exaggerated weight still looks wrong to me at the end, particularly when the nut bounces.
The tail flick as it prepares to move shows the characters thought process quite nicely, and most of the extremes blend together quite naturally.

This animation is just depressingly good. I believe it was done by the same guy that created the rig.
I love the overlap and follow through in this one. It's supposed to be a comical death, but its a nice reference for when my character collapses at the end of the obstacle course.
